Inertia Wheels MAX Upgrade

$3,000.00Price

Upgrade your existing “original” Inertia Wheel Brushless motors to MAX motors.

Upgrade Process
Before the upgrade is ready, you will be contacted to schedule a time to
ship in your Inertia Wheels for a qualified technician to complete the upgrade.

About MAX Wheels
Upgrade your Inertia Wheels to the powerful Inertia Wheels MAX. Be one of the
first to own a haptic, printed solid-state motor and leverage the full potential of
Inertia on set. 3x the Torque, 6x the Current, fully MAXED out.

Printed Circuit Board Motor Design
MAX motors feature a world-first, revolutionary, solid-state printed circuit board
stator. The motor is fully encapsulated in a thin pancake-shaped ring. The motor
design was optimized by an algorithm specifically for camera operators. The feel
of these motors is as groundbreaking as the form factor.

HiFi TorqueTM
3x peak torque and 6x peak current enable the artificial mass and drag of the
motors to be pushed much higher than before. Operators can operate without
concern for motor slips and get the feel they want for the shot.

Sub-Sensory ResolutionTM
The MAX motors feature a unique copper winding pattern designed by an
algorithm that has a near-perfect magnetic field for an ultra smooth feel. When
combined with our ultra-high-precision optical encoders, the physics simulation
and camera precision runs well beyond the human ability to decipher resolution.
Digital resolution or analog noise concerns are a thing of the past.

Arc EngineTM
Over three years, NODO has listened to operator feedback to develop a suite of
powerful operator-centric software features available exclusively in the Inertia
Wheels. With the launch of the MAX motors, NODO is bundling these features
into the Arc Engine. And with our ongoing firmware updates, more are coming.

● Single Push Limits - One push to set a repeatable mark.
● Limit Softening - Feather camera stops with precision.
● Shake - Give the camera some energy with shake.
● Handheld - Dial in an exact handheld look, even live during a shot.
● Adaptive Dampening - Smooth out sharpness in operating without latency
using NODO’s proprietary real-time acceleration analysis.
● Smoothing - Smooth out bumpy operating with classic averaging.

Included Training App
Our free training app allows rookie and veteran operators alike to practice in their
free time. Leverage the power of muscle memory to build operating comfort free
from the pressures of set. Available on Mac and PC.

  • Q: What is the overall MAX Motor upgrade process?
A: For existing Inertia Wheel owners, you will sign up for the upgrade program. Sometime during October, you will receive a notification to send your wheels to a service center. You will be responsible for paying shipping. We will replace the hardware components within your wheels and install MAX Wheels and ship your new MAX wheels back to you. Return domestic shipping is calculated and included at time of checkout. International shipping may require additional costs.

Q: What happens to my old motors?
A: The old motors and wheels will be recycled.

Q: Can I upgrade my wheels myself?
A: No, MAX wheels must be upgraded by a qualified technician.

Q: What is the MAX motor warranty?
A: For customers who upgrade to MAX motor, they'll receive the standard 1 year warranty (https://nodo.film/terms-and-conditions) from the date of upgrade for all parts related to the MAX motor upgrade. Where required by law, the warranty will be extended as required.

Q: Will NODO continue to support the "original" style wheels?
A: Yes, NODO will continue to sell and support both the "original" (now named "Inertia Wheels Brushless") motor and MAX motors.

Q: Why does SN 10xxx cost more to upgrade than SN 11xxx?
A: SN 10xxx has older circuit boards than 11xxx that must also be upgraded.

Q: How do I check my SN?
A: Power your Inertia Wheels. Go to Menu > System > About, and your serial number will be displayed at the top.

Q: Can I wait to upgrade later?
A: Yes, until the end of the Upgrade offering, estimated February 2023. Because of the time and expense associated with upgrades, they will only be available for a limited time. Once the upgrade program is complete, MAX wheels will only be available as a full product purchase.

    Shipping

Q: Why do I have to send in my wheels?
A: Internal components including new circuit boards must be installed for additional current required by the new powerful motors. Once assembled, a full QC process must be completed by qualified technicians.

Q: What should I ship in with my wheels?
A: Include the Inertia Wheels, original foam, wireless receiver, and power supply. It is not necessary and encouraged not to include: cables or Third Axis wheel.

Q: What is the shipping cost for the upgrade process?
A: You will be required to pay shipping to the Service Center. Return domestic shipping is calculated and included at time of checkout.

Q: How long does it take for the MAX Motor upgrade?
A: Plan to have your wheels in with us for 5-10 days. Allowing 3-5 days for return shipping as well. Total time will be approximately 8-15 days. Times could be longer. International customers may require more time for shipping, contact us if a more accurate estimate is necessary.
